Taking the long view is ultimately better for mental health as ‘We Aren’t Built to Live in the Moment’.  This excellent article by Martin Seligman and John Tierney argues that we are not prisoners of the present and the past because we are able to  imagine and shape our futures.  In doing so we can overcome trauma, depression and stress.

Taking the long view lies at the heart of solution-focused therapy and is why so many clients are able to solve difficulties and move on in their lives.  I work online with clients from all over the world using solution-focused therapy. Clients are supported to make changes, consider new perspectives, and find and maintain helpful tools and strategies.
